Man shot at least twice in torso

A 53-year-old man was shot at least twice in the lower torso today during what police are describing as a domestic disturbance incident.

Lee Ashley’s injuries did not appear to be life threatening, according to a press release from Pine Bluff Police Department spokesman Lt. David E. Price.

Although the press release said police were not releasing the name of the suspect pending the filing of formal charges, the intake log at the adult detention center showed that Rosemary James, 52, was booked in at 12:25 p.m. on probable cause of first-degree domestic battery.

Officers were called at 10 a.m. today to 700 W. 23rd Ave. after reports of a shooting. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene without further incident, Price said.

More details will be provided as they become available.
