Man accused of arson

A $100,000 bond was set for a Pine Bluff man arrested on suspicion of arson and terroristic threatening after allegedly burning a woman’s home in April.

William Courtney, 54, allegedly told police he set the fire, Deputy Prosecutor Nicole Pugh said at a probable cause hearing Friday. He allegedly wanted to burn the woman’s car too but the woman had driven the car.

In addition to ruling that prosecutors have probable cause to hold Courtney on the arson and threatening charges, Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney ordered Courtney to have no contact with the alleged victim.
