Employee arrested in business burglary

An employee at Pine Bluff Crate and Pallet Company was arrested Thursday after he allegedly admitted breaking the lock off a door to the company’s break room.

Carl Anderson, 45, allegedly told police he and another person broke into the room, Detective Scott Norton of the Pine Bluff Police Department said in a probable-cause affidavit.

During a court hearing for Anderson on Friday, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said a microwave oven, refrigerator and two space heaters were reported missing by the owner of the business, which is located at 2600 Persimmon St.

The probable-cause affidavit did not list the value of the missing items.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Anderson after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with commercial burglary.

The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent Anderson.
