Bond set in alleged threats and assault

A $25,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man who allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend and their child.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge Roderick White, 21, with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of terroristic threatening.

Detective James Huff said in a probable cause affidavit that the woman came to the police station Thursday afternoon to file a report against White, telling police that White had pointed a gun at her.

According to the affidavit, White came to the woman’s residence to see their child and he and the alleged victim got into an argument.

Huff said in the affidavit that the woman told police she told White to leave and he refused, saying he “wasn’t going anywhere.”

White then allegedly took the woman’s cell phone and threw it in the yard, went to his vehicle and got a handgun, then pointed the gun at the woman while she was holding their child.

At the request of Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer, Judge Kearney also ordered White to have no contact with the woman or child until the case is settled.
