Bond set in alleged shooting incident

A Pine Bluff man that police had been looking for since Tuesday in connection with a shooting incident will have to post a $100,000 bond to be released from the adult detention center after a court hearing Friday.

Malcolm Hadley, 21, allegedly shot Cedric Farris on the parking lot of the Lakeview Apartments at 501 W. Barraque St., Deputy Prosecutor Bryan Achorn said. Hadley was arrested Thursday.

Farris, 22, received a “non-life threatening” wound to the right lower back, according to a probable cause affidavit from Detective Temmiothy Johnson.

Achorn said that the initial police investigation indicated that Hadley shot from the back seat of a car during a drug deal.

Achorn said Hadley had “just been released from prison and is on parole” and had four prior felony convictions.

In addition to setting the bond, Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth ordered Hadley to have no contact with Farris until the case is settled.

Hadley said he would hire his own attorney.
