A $5,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man who allegedly pointed a gun at another man, then hit the man in the head.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge Eddie Johnson, 22, with aggravated assault.
According to a probable cause affidavit from Detective Roger Gray, police were sent at 11:38 p.m. to the 700 block of West 27th Avenue, and when they arrived, found the alleged victim with blood on his clothes and head.
The alleged victim’s wife told police Johnson had pointed a gun at the man and pulled the trigger several times but the gun didn’t fire, then hit the alleged victim in the head with the gun.
When Johnson was interviewed, he allegedly denied pointing a gun at the man or hitting him with the gun, but allegedly said he hit the victim with a brick during an altercation.
In addition to setting the bond, Kearney ordered Johnson to have no contact with the alleged victim until the case is settled.
