White Hall is roughly 21 acres larger after the city council unanimously approved an annexation ordinance Monday night.
The acreage borders the north side of U.S. 270 and is about 100 feet west of the property now occupied by Smart Chevrolet Company. The annexed area is uninhabited and belongs to developer Mo Dierich, Mayor Noel Foster said.
The council also unanimously approved the only other item of business — an ordinance amending certain sections of Title XV of the city’s general regulations. Among the amended items were:
• Project valuation for new construction or additions, with project valuation permit fees figured at $80 per square foot for residential, $100 per square foot for commercial and $25 per square foot for auxiliary buildings;
• Project valuation for renovation, repair, re-roofing, re-siding and the like, with valuation to include all plumbing, electrical and HVAC work and the cost of all materials, supplies and labor costs for installation or completion; and
• Plumbing, electrical and HVAC fees at two percent of the total job estimates or $25, whichever is greater.
