A Pine Bluff man has been arrested in connection with the Thanksgiving morning shooting death of another man in an apartment in central Pine Bluff.
Rashune Raglon, 25, was taken into custody Monday by the Kansas City, Kan., Major Crimes Unit in cooperation with the PineBluff Detective Division, PBPD Lt. David Price said.
Raglon was developed as a suspect in the death of Dametrick McDaniel, 25, after numerous leads, interviews and evidence was gathered, Price said in a news release. He was located after police developed information that Raglon was in the Kansas City area and passed that information along to authorities there.
McDaniel’s body was found after his 3-year-old daughter knocked on the door of an apartment at 2600 S. Beech St., just after midnight on Nov. 28. When officers went door to door looking for the girl’s parent or guardian, they found the door to Apartment I standing open and McDaniel lying in a pool of blood on the floor.
Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley pronounced McDaniel dead of a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Price said formal charges of capital murder are expected to be filed against Raglon either Monday or Tuesday, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department will bring Raglon back to the state after extradition proceedings.
Meanwhile, police are looking for Jeremy Reed, 22, who is wanted for questioning in the death of McDaniel. Price said Reed was last seen leaving the apartments in a 2003 tan Chevrolet Impala with two other black males.
Price said officers are also still looking for Brandon McClatchie, 23, to question him about the death.
Anyone with information about Reed or McClatchie should contact the Detective Division at 730-2090 or the dispatch center at 541-5300. All calls will be kept confidential.
McDaniel’s death was the third homicide recorded in Pine Bluff in November and police have made arrests in all three of them.
