Readers' Thanksgiving tributes

“I would like to thank Carolyn Phillips (Sissy) for always being there for me. She has touched my life in more ways than I could ever explain. She is not my birth mother but I believe God hand-picked her to mother me. She has taught me what it means to be a strong Christian woman. She has taught me how to be a mother to my son, a friend to others, and what it meant to never give up on myself. She believed in me when I couldn’t and didn’t even believe in myself. My Sissy has taught me how to embrace life with all the good and bad and to stay strong through it all. For all these reasons and so many more I want to say thank you Sissy for everything you have taught me, all the love you have given me and Trevor and most of all just for being you. When I grow up I want to be just like you! I love you forever.”
