Police offer reward in May homicide

Pine Bluff police are offering a reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person or persons responsible for the shooting death of a man in May.

James Green, 56, was shot to death on May 18 after an unknown man chased Green into the parking lot of Linden Street Apartments at 1020 Linden St. and opened fire.

Green’s daughter said, according to police, that the unknown man went into Green’s apartment demanding cigarettes and money, and a fight broke out between the daughter and unknown man.

The man allegedly pulled out a pistol and struck Green’s daughter before Green came in from outside the apartment.

Green was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:20 p.m.

Lt. David Price said in a news release Monday that anyone with information should contact the Detective Division at 730-2090 or the dispatch center at 541-5300.

All calls received will be kept confidential.
