Jefferson County Road Department and Recycling Report


The roads that were repaired recently by the Jefferson County Road Department were as follows:

Nov. 1

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes with cold mix on Butram Road, Marsell Road, Tamo River Road and Mabry Road.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled 102 yards of SB2 to Revils Road to be spread on the road.

• Grader Operators: Graded Hartley Dump Road, Waker Road, Griderfield Road, Pointer Road and Walton Road. Graded Revils Road and spread 102 yards of SB2 on the road.

• Ditching Crews: Cleaned out ditches on Lindsey Drive.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cut grass on Big Mo Road, Gibson Road and Achorn Road. Cut rights of way on Meadow Pond, East Baldwin Road and Meadow Lark Road.

• Sign Shop: Put signs up on Blankenship Road. Checked signs off HIghway 199 and HIghway 65 South. Worked in shop the rest of the day.

Nov. 4

* Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Island Harbor Road with cold mix and cleaned out brush and hauled off.

• Culvert Crew and Heavy Equipment Operators: Installed an 18 foot-by-40 foot culvert on Summer Road and a 15 foot-by-20 foot culvert on Evans Road. Forty-six yards of SB2 was used to cover the culverts.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled SB2 to Jacob Road.

• Grader Operators: Graded Luckie Road, State Farm Road, Mulberry Grove Road and McEntire Road. Graded Jacob Road and spread one load of SB2 on the road.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cut brush and grass at the intersection of Bruce Trail and Wampler Spur Road and hauled it off. Cut grass on Tamo River Road.

• Sign Shop: Put stop sign on Gaddy Koonce Road at the railroad track. Made a one-call for Dyson Road for the ditching to be done. Checked signs on Highway 88, Luckie Road, Hannaberry Lake Road in Sherrill.

Nov. 5

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Spring Lake Road, Dyson Road, Fulkerson Drive, Riverside Road, Jefferson Parkway, Anderson Drive, Blocker Road, Wellborn Road, Brown Cemetery Road, Snyder Road, Donham Road, Toler Road, Quail Meadow Road, Shannon Road, Petty Road, Lee Springs Road.

• Culvert Crew: Cleaned out the ditch on Highway 79 and the free bridge.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled two loads of SB2 and one load of Big Rock to Providence Road.

• Grader Operators: Graded Hooker, Winston, Abernathy Road, Tas Road, Cornerstone Road and Swan Lake Road. Graded Providence Road and spread two loads of SB2 and one load of Big Rock on the road.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cut grass on Reydell Road, Wrape Road, Qest Bitely Road and Rolfe Road. Cut right of way on Hudson Road and Tom Harvill Road.

• Sign Shop: Put a sign up on McElvin Road. Put a sign back up on Burgess Road. Made signs for Reydell Road and made a one call for the ditching to be done on Dyson Road.

Nov. 6

• Truck Drivers: Hauled three loads of SB2 from Little Rock to the Jefferson County Road Department.

• Grader Operators: Graded Townsend Road, Swan Lake Road and Swan Lake Recreational Area. Graded Big Mo Road and spread 20 yards of River Rock on the road.

• Ditching Crew: Cleaned out ditches on Gilliand Road.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cut right of way on Huntley Trail and cut grass on South Bitely Road, Newton Road and O’Brient Road.

• Sign Shop: Made a one call for Fulkerson Road for the ditching to be done. Put two road signs on Luckie Road. Put a road sign on Hannaberry Lake Road, Bayou Meto Flood Gate Road, Reydell Road, Scroggins Road and Kotchel Road. A sign “county maintenance ends 7/10 mile” was put on Lessell Road.

• Environmental Officer: Checked for trashy areas.

Nov. 7

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes in the Kingswood Estates and Cornerstone Road with cold mix.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled three loads of SB2 from Little Rock to the Jefferson County Road Department.

• Grader Operators: Graded Morgan Road, Klie Road, Fugate Road, Otto Hall Road, Sleepy Hollow Road. Continued the repairs on Big Mo Road and put three loads of River Rock and one load of SB2 on the road.

• Ditching Crew: Cleaning out the ditches on Gilliand Road was continued.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cut grass in ditches on Springlake Road.

• Sign Shop: Put two speed-limit signs on Lisa Lane. Checked signs on Middle Warren Road, Whiteville Road, Gaddy Koonce Road, Mitchell Road, Jim Ford Road, South McKinney Road. Worked in the sign shop the rest of the day.

Jefferson County Recycling Report

• Brought in 12 tire boxes, three cardboard boxes, one trash box.

• Brought in three trash trailers . Took out three trash trailers.

• Jefferson County brought in 45.44 tons of tires. Get Rid of It/Waste Management brought in 32.58 tons of tires.
