Jefferson County Road Department and Recycling Report


The roads that were repaired by the Jefferson County Road Department were as follows:

April 11

• Culvert Crews & Heavy Equipment Operators: Repaired a leaking gas line on Sorrells Road.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled two loads of SB2 from Little Rock to WishboneFarm Road, two loads to Fallis Lake Road and two loads to Wallace Road. Hauled SB2 to Sorrells Road to cover the new gas line that was installed.

• Grader Operators: Graded Anderson Road, Huntley Trail and Providence Road. Graded Wallace Road and spread two loads of SB2 on the road. Graded Fallis Lake Road and spread two loads of SB2 on the road. Graded Wishbone Farm Road and spread two loads of SB2 on the road.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cut right of way on Wilber West Road and Gibb Anderson Road. Sprayed the ditches to kill weeds on Sorrells Road.

• Sign Shop: Put stop sign and road sign on Belmont Road. Checked signs on Highway 65 south, Pinebergen Road and Old Warren Road.

April 14

• Bridge Crew: Sprayed around the bridges to kill weeds on Jeter Road, Longbell Road, Mulberry Road, Altheimer East Road, Wilson Road and Garrett Road.

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Tamo River Road with cold mix.

• Culvert Crews & Heavy Equipment Operators: Replaced another section of gas line on Sorrells Road and started tracing a gas leak.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled three loads of SB2 from Little Rock to the Jefferson County Road Department.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cut right of way on Deep Bayou Road and Potpouri Road.

• Sign Shop: Put road sign up on Abernathy Road and Gray Road. Worked in the sign shop the rest of the day making signs.

April 15

• Bridge Crew: Sprayed around the bridges to kill weeds on Wilber West Road, Brown Cemetery Road, Jefferson-Lincoln County Line Road. Also cleaned the salt and sand off the bridges.

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Furrow Road and Tucker Road with cold mix.

• Culvert Crew: Worked on the new section of gas line on Sorrells Road.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled three loads of SB2 from Little Rock to the Jefferson County Road Department.

• Ditching Crew: Cut ditches on Hooker Road.

April 16

• Bridge Crew: Sprayed around the ditches on Wilber West, Jefferson-Lincoln County Line Road and McEntire Road to kill the weeds and also cleaned out the sand and salt off the bridges.

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes on State Farm Road, Cotton Street, Sunset Road, Princeton Pike, Claud Road, Evans Road, Hardin Reed Road, Providence Road, Spring Lake Road, Lowman Road and Sorrells Road with cold mix.

• Truck Driver: Hauled SB2 from Little Rock to North G .L. Davis Road and Clint Henderson Road.

• Grader Operators: Graded Sell Davis Road, Collier Lee Road, Hudson Road, Sunset Lane, Rucker Cove, Terry Lane, South G. L. Davis Road. Graded North G. L. Davis Road and spread two loads of SB2 on the road. Graded Henderson Road and spread 48 yards of sB2 on the road.

April 17

• Culvert Crew & Heavy equipment Operators: Finished installing the gas line on Sorrells Road.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled SB2 from Little Rock to North Pack Road.

• Grader Operators: Graded North Pack Road and spread one load of SB2 on the road.

Jefferson County Recycling Report

• Jefferson County brought in eight tire boxes, two cardboard boxes and two trash boxes.

• Three trash trailers brought in. Three trash trailers sent out.

• Jefferson County brought in 42.27 tons of tires. Get Rid of It/Waste Management brought in 60.82 tons of tires.

• Shipped one load of cardboard and scheduled two loads of E-Waste to be picked up.

• Received training on federal and state guidelines for the handling and shipment of hazardous waste to be collected at the new recycling facility.

• Continued to operate the city’s collection site on Pennsylvania Avenue.
