Jefferson County Road Department and Recycling Report


The roads that were repaired by the Jefferson County Road Department were as follows:

Jan. 24

• Bridge Crew: Checked bridges north of the river.

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Wilderness Road and Dogwood Road, Stokes Road, Hardin Reed Road, Pony Trail, Forrest Drive and Worthen Road with sealing chips and CRS2.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled three loads of SB2 to Archer Road and two loads of SB2 to Maynard Road to be spread on the road.

• Grader Operators: Graded Lucky Road, Acorn Road, Revils Road, Scoggins Road, Gibson Road, Wrape Road, Reydell Road, Hannaberry Lake Road, North Pack Road, Osborn Road, Hunter Drive, Handley Road, Kimmel Road, Shingle Mill Road, Wolfe Road, Wood Road, Richmond Core Road. Graded Archer Road and spread three loads of SB2 on the road. Graded Maynard Road and spread two loads of SB2 on the road.

• Ditching Crew: Cleaned out ditches on Summers Road.

• Sign Shop: Straightened sign on Gravel Pit Road. Put sign up at the cemetery.

Jan. 26

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Wilderness Road, Dogwood Road and Gravel Pit Road.

Jan. 27

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Gravel Pit Road, Charles Road, North Ridge Circle, Walridge Road, Dan Road, Besly Road, Wagon Trace, Harvest Drive, Meadowpond Drive, Whippoorwill Road, Jamestown Road, Easy Streeet, Meadowpond Road.

• Culvert Crew & Heavy Equipment Operators: Cleaned out the pipe on Robinson Road.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled SB2 to Nanci Cove and Jessica Drive to spread on the road.

• Grader Operators: Graded Alex Brown Road, Vaugine Road, Reydell Road, Kotchell Road and Jacob Road. Graded Nanci Cove and spread five loads of SB2 on the road. Graded Jessica Drive and spread two loads of SB2 on the road.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cut right-of-way on Beechnut at the bridge and on Petty Road. Cut limbs and brush on right-of-way on Lazy Hill.

• Sign Shop: Put road sign up on Sorrells Road. Put mailbox up on Deer Lane.

Jan. 28

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Lee Springs Road and Seibs Road.

• Grader Operators: Graded Florene Road and Webb Road.

• Ditching Crew: Cut ditches on Chandler Road, Carter Road. Checked Louis Ramsay Overpass for ice.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cut right-of-way on Bruce Trail.

• Sign Shop: Filled potholes on Dyson Road, McKevin Road, Murdock Road, Fallis Road, Old Star City Road, Pinebergen Road and Rogers Road.

Jan. 29

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Providence Road.

• Culvert Crew: Put a 36x10 steel cross pipe across the road on Olloway Road and covered it with SB2.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled 24 yards of sB2 from Little Rock to Olloway Road to cover the pipe. Hauled SB2 from Little Rock to the Jefferson County Road Department.

• Grader Operators: Graded Bayou Meto Recreational Road, Cornerstone Road, Cactus Trail, Dowd Road, Tower Road, Honeybee Road, Tucker Road, Red Hall Road and Vandalsen.

• Ditching Crew: Cleaned out the ditches on Mail Route Road.

• Boom Mower Crew: Cleaned out ditches on Stagecoach Road, Kearney Road and Bruce Trail.

• Sign Shop: Put address on a mailbox that was replaced on Deer Lane. Put road signs on German Springs Road and Chaparral Road. Worked in the signs shop making signs the rest of the day.

• Environmental Officer: Checked county roads for trashy yards.

Jan. 30

• Patching Crew: Filled potholes on Providence Road, Redbud Road and Oates Road.

• Culvert Crew & Heavy Equipment Operators: Installed a culvert on Pepperridge Road.

• Truck Drivers: Hauled SB2 to Pepperridge Road to cover the culvert.

• Grader Operators: Graded Swan Lake Road and Carter Road.

• Ditching Crew: Checked ditches on Griderfield-Ladd Road, Jefferson-Lincoln County Line Road.

• Sign Shop: Put a road sign on Vaugine Road, picked up raised pavement marking machine and worked in the sign shop the rest of the day.

• Environmental Officer: Worked with residents to clean up illegal dumping sites.

Jefferson County Recycling Report

• Jefferson County brought in eight tire boxes, five paper boxes and one trash box.

• Brought three trash trailers in, sent three trash trailers out.

• Jefferson County brought in 20.63 tons of tires. Get Rid of It/Waste Management brought in 35.40 tons of tires.
