Jefferson County home sales were down slightly in March compared with one year ago, according to a report released Friday by the Arkansas Realtors Association.
Twenty-two homes sold in March 2014, compared with 34 in March 13. For the year-to-date, 67 houses have been sold this year, compared with 80 through the first three months of 2013.
The March 2014 home sales represented a value of $2 million, compared with the $2.8 million valuation of homes sold in March 2013. For the year-to-date, home sales represented $5.5 million, compared with $7.8 million by the same month in 2013.
The average price of a home sold in Jefferson County in March was $92,629, compared with $81,008 in March 2013. Year-to-date figures were $82,519 for 2014 and $97,814 for 2013.
Statewide, year-over-year home sales for March were flat among the counties that the Realtors Association surveys.
The counties where the most units were sold in March were Benton, Pulaski, Washington, Saline and Garland counties.
For the year-to-date, 5,625 houses have been sold statewide, with Benton, Pulaski, Washington, Saline and Faulkner counties seeing the highest number of home sales.
Elsewhere in Southeast Arkansas, the Realtors Association collects information on Grant County, where 12 homes were sold in March, compared with 13 in March 2013. For the year-to-date, 23 homes have sold this year, compared with 26 by the same month last year.
The sales represented $1.3 million in March, compared with $2 million the previous March. Average home prices were $106,591 this year, compared with $152,319 last year.
