Internet outage blamed on cut in fiber line

A cut in a fiber line was blamed for the disruption of Internet service in the Pine Bluff area Wednesday, according to a call center employee of Pine Bluff Cable Television in Little Rock.

The call center operator said the problem had been reported and company employees were “working as fast as possible” to get it corrected.

No information was available on the number of customers affected.

Internet service to The Commercial, which is provided by Pine Bluff Cable TV, was out for several hours Wednesday morning, with service being restored just before 1 p.m.

An attempt to contact the local office was unsuccessful, and calls were referred to the call center in Little Rock.
