IDPA match will benefit police group


A Saturday, May 3, shooting competition/International Defensive Pistol Association match at the Last Resort Firearms Training facility at 4220 Gravel Pit Road will benefit the Arkansas Municipal Police Association.

AMPA provides services to the state’s municipal police officers.

The shooting contest will begin at 9 a.m. and include six scenarios. Competitors must provide their own firearms and about 100 rounds of ammunition. No level of expertise is required.

The competition is open to .38 and higher caliber revolvers and 9 mm and higher caliber semi-automatic pistols. The event fee is $10 per person. Participants may also make additional donations to help support AMPA.

AMPA’s elected leadership includes Brian Todd of White Hall Police Department and Billy Dixon and Chris Powell of Pine Bluff Police Department. Serving on the AMPA Board of Directors are WHPD Chief Ricky Wingard and PBPD retirees Glenn Mixon and Ricky Riggins of PBPD.
