Gould mayor arrested after traffic stop

Gould Mayor Earnest Nash was arrested Friday morning after the car he was driving was stopped for a traffic violation.

Arkansas State Police Capt. Leonard Hogg, commander of Troop F, which includes Jefferson and Lincoln counties, said Nash was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license and taken to the Lincoln County Jail in Star City.

Hogg said Nash was stopped by a Lincoln County sheriff’s deputy. A trooper went to assist and wrote the citation after a records check indicated that Nash had a suspended driver’s license.

Lincoln County Sheriff Larry McGee said Nash was released after posting a bond of $180 for driving on a suspended license and another $155 on the traffic violation.

An attempt to contact Nash on Friday afternoon was unsuccessful.
