Jefferson County District One Justice of the Peace Morris Caldwell has announced his intention to seek a second term on the Quorum Court in the May Democratic Primary.
Caldwell serves on the Community Development Committee and the Solid Waste/Recycling Committee of the county’s legislative body. Under the Solid Waste and Recycling Committee, Jefferson County recycling programs revenue has doubled in less than a year. With this increase in revenue, the county has been able to provide better services to the community.
He is also a member of the Democratic Central Committee and the Arkansas Association of Counties.
“I would like to thank the citizens of District One for giving me the opportunity to serve the community in the capacity of Justice of the Peace,” Caldwell said in a news release. “I will continue to put people, not politics first if given the opportunity to continue my service.”
He is married to Kanisher Caldwell and they have one daughter, Madison Nia-Nichole Caldwell. They are members of Highland Baptist Church.
