Jefferson County Judge Dutch King has lifted the burn ban in Jefferson County.
According to a news release Monday morning, King said recently received rainfall has diminished the fire potential but he asked that citizens still exercise extreme caution when burning outdoors.
King asked that people who are going to burn outdoors attend the fire at all times, don’t burn in high winds and keep a water source close by to contain the fire.
Residents of Pine Bluff are required to get a permit before burning, and that permit can be obtained by calling the Pine Bluff Fire Department at 870-730-2048.
The burn ban may be reinstated in the near future if necessary.
