The Arkansas Career Training Institute of the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center in Hot Springs has named Bryan Johnson of Pine Bluff its Student of the Month for December 2013.
Johnson enrolled at A.C.T.I. in October 2012 and is in the business and marketing training program.
“Bryan has not let his disabilities hinder him from accomplishing what he sets out to do,” said instructor Sandra Dunn, who nominated Johnson. “Once he decides what he needs to work toward, he dedicates himself to doing his best. He has an 87 percent overall average in his coursework, and he has a part-time job nights and weekends. He showed a great deal of persistence and dedication in obtaining that job.”
“Bryan has been a fantastic person to work with,” said Scott Smith, Johnson’s counselor. “His attitude and self-discipline make him a fine role model for other students. He’s just a good guy. I would happily take 50 students like Bryan on my caseload.”
Johnson is the son of Tina Johnson of Pine Bluff and attended Pine Bluff High School.
During a reception held in his honor, Bryan received a framed certificate signed by A.C.T.I. Administrator Johnathan Bibb and a Student of the Month pin that he can wear on his school identification badge.
