King takes majority even in White Hall

Former Pine Bluff Mayor Dutch King can largely credit the city's voters for his decisive victory in the Nov. 6 Jefferson County judge's race. A Democrat, King garnered 73 percent of the votes in a 19,077-6,997 win over District 12 Justice of the Peace Ted Harden, a White Hall Republican.

Numbers show Hollingsworth dominated across board

Debe Hollingsworth's win in the Nov. 6 Pine Bluff mayoral election was so thorough that it's safe to say the political novice was the top choice among all voter groups, a feat made even more remarkable by her roughly 5-2 victory margin over her chief competitor, two-term incumbent Carl A. Redus Jr.

Early voting, election details announced

The Nov. 6 general election will include several races throughout Jefferson County including a decision on the Pine Bluff mayor's race which includes nine candidates, races for Jefferson County judge, sheriff, Pine Bluff city treasurer and a decision on a state highway proposal.

Gould group slates candidate forum

Gould Citizens Advisory Council will host a candidate forum at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Gould Lions Club in Gould. All candidates for the City of Gould contested races are invited to inform voters how they intend to address issues that face the city. The candidates will also have an opportunity to ensure that their positions on the issues are accurately explained.
