Concerts/Musicals

Pilgrim Rest Gospel Choir will present the 32nd annual Mother’s Day Concert at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church on U.S. 65 South in the Noble Lake community at 7 p.m. Sunday. The narrator will be Rev. Robert Key, associate minister of Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.

The Mighty Truelights will present a musical at International House of Prayer, 4106 W. 12th Ave., at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Revival

Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 4807 W. Sixth Ave., will host the annual spring revival at 7 p.m. on the following dates with these preachers: Monday, Rev. Donald Manning of Thomas Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Gould; Tuesday, Rev. T. Shelton of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church; Wednesday, Rev. L. Shelton of Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church; Thursday and Friday, Rev. Carlos Shelton of New Home Missionary Baptist Church at Irving, Texas.

Special events

Trinity Episcopal Church, 703 W. Third Ave., will honor its graduating seniors during the 10:30 a.m. service and celebrate the women of the parish with a Mother’s Day luncheon after the service. Graduates are Merin Duke, who will graduate from the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Science and the Arts at Hot Springs; and Bailey Garner, Tyler Gwin, and Lara Leigh McBryde, who will all graduate from Watson Chapel High School.

Deeper Revelation International Ministries, 507 W. Sixth Ave., will hold a special Mother’s Day service at 6:30 a.m. Sunday. The speaker will be the chief apostle, D. DeWayne Rudd Sr. The event is in addition to the regular service held Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.

A Mother’s Day Weekend Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St. The special guest will be Erin Knight. Musical groups will include Pure Purpose, Darrough Singers, Nu Mighty Supremes, Virtuous and Linnie Jackson & the Ecohoes of Faith, White Family, Dewitt Hill Singers and Shae Racy & Frenz.

Share-A-Prayer and Word Church, 4019 S. Main St., will celebrate Mother’s Day at 9 a.m. Sunday. The guest pastor will be Jere Peterson of Jere Peterson’s Ministries at Tulsa, Okla.

Star Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at Wabbaseka will honor mothers during worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be JoLinda Smith of Mason Temple Church of God in Christ at Altheimer.

Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2401 Port Road, will celebrate Mother’s Day at 11 a.m. Sunday. Rev. Ron Womack of Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church will be the guest speaker.

Morris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will observe its family and friends day at 11 a.m. Sunday. Rev. Joseph Valliant Jr. will be the speaker.

A senior day program will be held at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1404 S Georgia St., at 9 a.m. Sunday. The speaker will be Stephanie Horton of St. Paul church.

The Central District Woman’s Auxiliary will observe the National Baptist Day of Prayer program at 6 p.m. Monday at Watkins Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 800 S. Juniper St.

The Foreign Mission Board of the Consolidated Baptist State Convention and Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church are hosting Baptist missionaries, Rev. Anthony B. Morris and Soko Kamere, physician’s assistant from Liberia, West Africa. The two will be available Saturday, May 10, through Friday, May 16, for a religious cultural exchange speakers bureau for area churches and community organizations. Details: Contact Rev. J.Y.
