Anniversaries/Annuals

Mt. Olive AME Church at Tarry will celebrate its 152nd church anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The special guests will be Rev. Robert E. Iverson and Daniel Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Tamo. Dinner will be served.

St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will celebrate the ninth anniversary of the pastor and wife, Rev. Richard and Dorothy Hart, at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. George Waters Jr., pastor of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff. Dinner will be served.

New Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 3800 Fir St., will observe its seventh church anniversary at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Lavara Henry, pastor of Damascus Missionary Baptist Church.

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St., will host the seventh anniversary of Rev. Daryl and Yvette Graydon, pastor and wife of First Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer. At 7 p.m. Saturday, First Lady’s Night will feature Marcella Barnes as the guest speaker. Sunday at 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be Rev. Brian Dodson, pastor of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer.

Unity Christian Fellowship Church, 2712 S. Bay St., will hold its fifth church anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Darrell Martin, pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Altheimer, will be the guest speaker. Dinner will be served.

Concerts/Musicals

A spring fellowship concert featuring Gospel recording artists Karen Clark Sheard and Jonathan McReynolds will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at Fellowship North Church at North Little Rock. Presented by Kim Jones-Sneed’s Stuff in the Bluff website and Jewel Entertainment, the event coincides with the 11th anniversary of the website. Watkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 800 S. Juniper St., will celebrate its choir anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Learthur Shelton, pastor of Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Morris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will host the worship services of the Pastoria Singing Union at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Reynolds Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 706 S. Cypress St., will host the Goodwill Singing Union at 7 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Ulysses Dunlap, pastor of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church of Sherrill and Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer. Angels of Praise will sing.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Altheimer will host the Southeast Arkansas Community Mass Choir’s musical benefit for Sam Jackson and Marion Stanley Norwood at 7 p.m. Saturday.

New Bethlehem Baptist Church, 500 Bois D’Arc, will host the fifth anniversary of Rev. Sammie Smith Jr. and Nu-Begin-N at 6:30 p.m. Saturday featuring special guests Celestial Wonders of Little Rock. Sunday at 6:30 p.m., Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 S. Grant St., will host the event with special guests Christland Travelers of Little Rock, Men in Christ of Pine Bluff, Heavenly Hearts of Dumas and Nu-Emag-3 of Pine Bluff.

The anniversary of T.W. Scott and the Singing Revs will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2101 Reeker St. Guests will include the Spiritualettes, Barnes Brothers and Williams Singers.

Unity Christian Fellowship, 2712 S. Bay St., will host the third anniversary celebration for Virtuous at 6 p.m. Saturday. Guests will include Westside Harmonetts, Future Generation and Divine Glory. Bettie White, pastor of New Covenant Church Global, will give words of encouragement.

Men’s/Women’s Day

Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1800 W. Pullen St., will celebrate its annual men’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. George Waters, pastor of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church. The male choirs of Barraque Street and Rose Hill will sing.

Mt. Bayou Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will host Women’s Day 2014 at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Pine Bluff School District Superintendent Linda Watson, a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church at Little Rock.

Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 1307 W. 16th Ave., will observe its annual men’s day at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Larry Charles, pastor of Breath of Life Church at Bryant. Old St. James Male Chorus will sing.

Cherry Street AME Zion Church, 800 Cherry St., will sponsor Women’s Day 2014 at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Sheree’ Evans-Holmes, an elder at St. Mark Baptist Church at Little Rock. Music will be by Women United for Christ.

St. Andrew AME Church, 701 Franklin St., will hold its annual women’s day Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The guest preacher will be Rev. Cheryle Highsmith, pastor of Greater St. Mark AME Church at Thornton.

Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church at Cornerstone will host its men’s and women’s program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The speaker will be Rev. Robert Anderson, pastor of Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer.

Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church, 2312 Fluker St., will celebrate its annual men’s day Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. with James Cooper, a deacon at Kings Highway, as the speaker. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be Rev. Steven King, pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, moderator of the Consolidated St. Marion Baptist District Association. Men in Black will sing.

East End Church of God in Christ, 709 Virginia St., will observe its annual men’s and women’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Elder Roy Henry Johnson, associate elder of Williams Temple Church of God in Christ at Little Rock.

Revivals

Mt. Nebo Baptist Church at Monticello will hold spring revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The guest evangelist will be Rev. R.C. Barnes, pastor of Ash Street Missionary Baptist Church of Dermott.

New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 3000 S. Orange St., will hold spring revival with these speakers at 7 p.m. on the following nights — Wednesday, Rev. Theotis Shelton, pastor of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff; Thursday, Rev. Stanley Blair, pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow; and Friday, Rev. George Toney, pastor of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church at Noble Lake.

Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at Gould will hold revival at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Johnny Smith, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church of Pine Bluff.

Special events

New Covenant Church Global, 1711 W. 13th Ave., will host a singles conference Saturday starting at 9 a.m. Guest speakers will be Mary Arnold, an apostle; Alan Tate, a prophet; and Derrick Evans, a prophet. The fee is $12.

Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3006 Kentucky St., will celebrate Family and Friends Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Theotis Shelton, pastor of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff, will be the guest preacher.

First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, will host the annual Deacon and Deaconess program at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Timothy Wallace of New Salem Baptist Church at Sherrill.

New Community Church, 321 N. Birch St., will host its annual Raising the Standard Conference with the following speakers at 7 p.m. on these dates — Monday, Christopher Davis, pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church at Memphis; Tuesday, Teresa Jenkins, prophetess of Royal Priesthood Anointed Prophetic Ministries of Jonesboro; and Wednesday, D. Dewayne Rudd Sr., chief apostle of Deeper Revelation International Ministries of Pine Bluff, North Little Rock and Memphis.

Union Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will hold its annual harvest drive at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Graylin Wilson, pastor of Second Missionary Baptist Church at Wabbaseka.

Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas will have its annual mission and laymen service at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest pastor and church will be Rev. Larry Alexander and St. Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas.

Motley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 794 St. Raphael Road, will observe its annual mission program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Charles Helloms, pastor of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Main Street Church of God in Christ, 2901 Main St., will hold its annual usher program at 7 p.m. Sunday. Elder Lester Gaston of Main Street church will be the speaker.

Happy Home Missionary Baptist Church at Jefferson will observe its annual usher day at 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Brian Castle, pastor of Indiana Street Baptist Church at Pine Bluff, will be the guest minister.

Amos Chapel Baptist Church, 2401 Port Road, will hold a graduation ceremony for the 2014 Class of New Beginning Beauty Academy at 6 p.m. Saturday. The speaker will be Robbie Williams of Smith Chapel Baptist Church.

Victory Faith Church of God In Christ, 1517 S. Poplar St., will have its Youth Day Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The speaker will be Rev. K.D. Mixon II.
