Anniversaries/Annuals

Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2401 Port Road, will hold its family and friends day at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. David Lee of Guiding Star Missionary Baptist Church of Kansas City, Kan.

Matthews Memorial Baptist Church, 3820 W. 20th Ave., will hold its 75th church anniversary at 10 a.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be Paul Sheets. Lunch will be served at noon.

New Community Church, 321 N. Birch St., will hold its 54th church anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Ronald Forte of Antioch Full Gospel Church of Little Rock.

Jerusalem No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church of Altheimer will host the annual Sunday School union with Corinth and Solomon Temple Missionary Baptist churches of Sherrill at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Bethany Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1923 Olive St., will hold its friends and family month services at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Samuel Causey, pastor emeritus, of Los Angeles.

Mulberry Grove Baptist Church of Altheimer will hold its annual choir day at 3 p.m. Sunday. Words of encouragement will be from Rev. Daryl Graydon, pastor of First Baptist Church at Altheimer. Guest choirs will be from New Hope, Second Baptist, First Baptist, Greater Battle Chapel, Mt. Zion and Marzell churches.

Men’s/Women’s Day

Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2522 N. Pryce St., will hold its Women in Worship fifth Sunday service at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Sandra J. Williams, assistant principal at Watson Chapel High School. Women are asked to wear white.

Judah Restoration Worship Center, 2401 Main St., will hold the Men Seeking the Wisdom of God service at 4 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. J. Barrington Minix, pastor of Gaines Street Missionary Baptist Church of Little Rock.

Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Ladd will hold its women’s day service Sunday starting at 9:30 a.m. with Sunday school and its program at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be Lenora Savage of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.

Concerts/Musicals

The Pine Bluff Women’s Community Choir will present its Songs of Praise 47 Concert at Timothy Chapel Baptist Church, 1304 S. Apple St., at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Hardin Baptist Church of White Hall will host the Hackett Family in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, 3201 W. Second Ave., will host an appreciation concert honoring Eddie Whitman, Clancy White and Isom Duckworth at 5 p.m. Sunday. The featured guests will be the Southeast Arkansas Male Chorus.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Altheimer will host a musical benefit program honoring Edward Limuel at 7 p.m. Saturday sponsored by the Southeast Arkansas Community Mass Choir.

Revival

International House of Praise, 1002 E. Eighth Ave., will hold its resurrection revival at 7 nightly Thursday through April 5.

Special Events

The Word Live Church of God in Christ at Fordyce will hold a benefit program for fire victims, Rodney and Ceressa Owens, and children, Malik and Malika, both 17, at 7 p.m. Friday. The Owens family home in the Princeton community in Dallas County was lost in a fire in February. They are members of the Tate Temple Church of God in Christ in Rison.

Pine Hill Baptist Church of Star City will host fellowship services at 10 a.m. Sunday with Jefferson Chapel Church of Tarry and Kindling Star and Travelers Rest Baptist churches of Grady.

Prairie Lake Missi0nary Baptist Church, 2611 Indiana St., will host the first sermon of William Sanders at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The tri-church fellowship will hold its fifth Sunday worship and praise services at New Jerusalem #2 Missionary Baptist Church, 1005 West 12th Ave., at 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Andrew Williams will deliver the sermon. Guests include Clarence Peacock, pastor of Moments of Truth ministry.

God’s Way Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 1601 Commerce Road, will hold its missionary program at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Wabbaseka Mayor Myra Edwards of Derrick Chapel Church.

The Sallie Ann Compton Women’s Missionary Society of St. Andrew AME Church, 701 Franklin St., will hold its missionary day program at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Tameka Lamb, associate minister of Bethel AME Church of Little Rock.

Happy Home Missionary Baptist Church of Jefferson will hold its fifth Sunday mission program at 11 a.m. Sunday. The speaker will be a deacon, Eugene “Luke” Hayes Sr.

Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Cornerstone will hold its fifth Sunday fellowship at 11 a.m. Sunday. The speaker will be Rev. Fredric Roberts.

Greater Ward Chapel AME Church, 3700 W. Sixth Ave., will host the Gertrude Calvin Missionary Society fifth Sunday service at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Louise Tisdale of St. Luke AME Church.

Union Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, 1211 S. Persimmon St., will host St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Sherrill in a joint fellowship service at 11 a.m. Sunday. The speaker will be Rev. J.Y. Williams Jr., pastor of St. John.

First Southern Baptist Church of Sheridan will hold its fun day Saturday with games and a cookout at noon and a Rock-a-Thon from 6 to 9 p.m.
