Almeta Missionary Baptist Church of Reedville will hold its annual choir day service at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. J.L. Morton, pastor of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church of Dumas.

First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucet Road, will hold its choir anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Chester Thompson, bishop of Zion Hill Baptist Church of Camden.

Mt. Pleasant AME Church, 1201 N. Magnolia St., will hold its annual prison ministry program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Ray Hobbs, director of the Arkansas Department of Correction.

Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 6300 U.S. 79 South, will observe the fourth anniversary honoring Rev. Aaron L. Johnson at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Lafayette Woods Sr., pastor of Mt. Bayou Baptist Church of Altheimer. The morning speaker will be associate minister, Rev. Charles Graham.

Tate Temple Church of God in Christ of Rison will host its annual family and friends day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Lois Avery, an evangelist of True Believers Church of God in Christ of Fordyce.

New Derrissaux Missionary Baptist Church, 4010 Old Warren Road, will hold its annual ushers program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Leon Williams, elder and pastor of True Vine “E” Missionary Baptist Church.

The seventh annual appreciation service honoring Kenneth and Kymberly Edwards will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Church of the Living God, 3120 Gravel Pit Road. The guest speaker will be Rev. Dexter McDonnell, pastor of God’s Way Fellowship Church.

The Westside Missionary Baptist Church of Star City will hold its 62nd church anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Henry Cox of Union Hill Church of Warren.

Indiana Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1114 Indiana St., will hold its annual mission program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. George Waters of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

St. Mark Baptist Church of Sherrill will hold its annual usher program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Donald Agee of New Morning Star Baptist Church. The special guests will be the New Morning Star ushers.

Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church of Noble Lake will observe its 19th anniversary honoring Rev. and Mrs. George Toney III at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Glenn Barnes Sr., pastor of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 600 E. 38th Ave., will hold its family and friends day at 11 a.m. Sunday. The speaker will be Rev. Otis Fletcher, associate minister of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

The Central District Baptist Association Woman’s Auxiliary will host its annual mission program at Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1800 W. Pullen St., at 10 a.m. Saturday. The speaker will be Rev. L.A. Holcomb Jr., pastor of Barraque Street.

Motley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 794 St. Raphael Road, will hold its friends and family day and annual homecoming program at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Accie L. Reynolds Jr. of First Baptist Church of Ladd.

Men’s/Women’s Day

First Baptist Church (Dew Drop), 1701 N. Bryant St., will hold its women’s day celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Benetha Williams, an evangelist from New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.

New Town Missionary Baptist Church, 3600 W. Second Ave., will hold its annual men/women’s day celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Derick Easter, pastor of New St. Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church.

New Hope CME Church, 901 E. 21st Ave., will hold its annual men’s day celebration starting at 10 a.m. Saturday with a men’s health fair. Sybil Ward, community health coordinator of Jefferson Comprehensive Care Systems, will discuss HIV education. Sunday, services will be at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be Jefferson County Sheriff Gerald Robinson. Music will be provided by Men in Black.

New Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 3800 Fir St., will hold its annual men’s day service at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Robert L. Handley, pastor of Mt. Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. Also, Vincent Miles of Mt. Harmony will direct the men’s day choir.

Concerts/Musicals

St. Peter Catholic Church, 207 E. 16th Ave., will hold its Lenten mission at 5:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Chester Smith of the Bowman-Francis Ministry Project. Men In The Fire will present a spiritual concert at 10 a.m. Saturday as well as provide the music Sunday for 9 a.m. Mass.

First Southern Baptist Church of Sheridan will host Tru Witness for a gospel singing at 6:30 p.m. Saturday with fellowship afterwards.

The 54th annual musical celebration honoring the Williams Singers will begin at Family Time Baptist Church, 501 Ohio St., at 6 p.m. Saturday. Special guests will be The Soul Consolators of Magnolia, Miss. At 6 p.m. Sunday, the celebration will be held at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 S. Grant St. Special guests will be The Sensational Wells Brothers of Earle and The Mellowtones of West Memphis and the cost will be $7 at the door.

Revivals

Grapevine Church of God in Christ of Grapevine will host a spirit-led revival at 7 p.m. with the following speakers on these dates: Sunday, Barbara Deloney, evangelist of Grapevine Church; Monday, Gail Stith, evangelist of First Trinity Church of God in Christ; and superintendent Joe L. Stocker of Pine Bluff District #1 Churches of God in Christ, and pastor of Main Street Church of God in Christ.

St. Andrew AME Church, 701 Franklin St., will hold a spring revival Monday through Wednesday starting at 6:45 p.m. with praise service and 7 p.m. with revival. The guest speaker will be Rev. Kent. J. Broughton Sr., presiding elder of Camden-El Dorado District of the West Arkansas Conference.

City Wide Mission will meet at Stewart Memorial CME Church, 911 S. Maple St., at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Andrea Bullard-Johnson, a minister, will be the speaker at Travelers Rest Baptist Church of Grady at 11 a.m. Sunday.

New Salem Missionary Baptist Church of Sherrill will present a play, “Destined for Greatness,” in observance of black history at 5 p.m. Sunday.

Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 2507 Hill St., will hold the first sermon service honoring Rev. David Holmes at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Jerusalem No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church of Altheimer will hold an appreciation day honoring Lorine Kelly a minister, at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Cornerstone will hold its annual spring conference at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Eudora Baptist Church of Altheimer will hold a musical benefit program honoring Juvana Kirklin and Kamel Hayes at 7 p.m. Saturday sponsored by the Southeast Arkansas Community Mass Choir.

Gail Stith, an evangelist at First Trinity Church of God in Christ, and district evangelist for Pine Bluff District #1 Church of God in Christ, will be the guest speaker at 11 a.m. Sunday at Unity Temple Church of God in Christ, 4401 W. Sixth Ave.

The Old St. James Gospel Reunion Choir will hold rehearsal at Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 1305 W. 16th Ave., at 7 p.m. Monday.

Greater Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 3700 W. 13th Ave., will hold a pastor’s aid program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Melvin Harrison, pastor of St. Ollie Missionary Baptist Church. Music will be provided by Men in Black.

Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 2507 Hill St., will hold its church retreat starting at 9 a.m. Saturday with registration and a continental breakfast.

Star Bethel Missionary Baptist Church will hold a “Celebration of Our Heritage” service at 11 a.m. Sunday. Special guests will be Pearlene Harris, soloist, and Trenton Kirklin, praise dancer.

Damascus Missionary Baptist Church of Grady will hold its annual youth day program at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. J. Brothers, associate minister of New Hope Baptist Church of Moscow.

Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2522 N. Pryce St., will hold its youth day at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Vincent Jackson, a minister of Antioch Full Gospel Church of Little Rock.
