Anniversaries/Annuals

First Missionary Baptist Church of Altheimer will hold its choir anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Terry Brown, pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.

Union Missionary Baptist Church, 609 E. 24th Ave., will hold its 132nd anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Lee Coleman, pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Lonoke.

Prairie Lake Missionary Baptist Church, 2611 Indiana St., will hold its annual Colorama celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday. Musical guests will be Kourtney Smith, Renewed Generation, Humbled Beginnings and New St. James Missionary Baptist Church Choir.

True Vine “E” Missionary Baptist Church, 1001 W. Second Ave., will hold its eighth anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Kirby Gulley, pastor of Eighth Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.

God’s Way Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 1601 Commerce Road, will observe the fifth anniversary of its pastor, Rev. Dexter McDonnell Sr., starting with a pre-anniversary musical at 6 p.m. Saturday. At 11 a.m. Sunday, Dr. Kenneth Kemp of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of San Antonio, Texas, will be the guest speaker.

Highland Missionary Baptist Church, 1320 Peach St., will observe the 11th pastoral anniversary of Rev. C.L. Mack Sr. and Shameka Mack starting with ladies night at 6 p.m. Saturday and the guest speaker will be Rev. Carolyn Ramsey, pastor of Destiny Worship Center. Sunday at 11 a.m., the guest speaker will be Rev. Royce Jackson of Polk Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Yorktown and at 3 p.m. the guest speaker will be Rev. Eric Alexander, pastor of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church of North Little Rock.

Kingdom of God Ministries, 700 S. Grant St., will honor its pastor and wife, Alvin and Rochelle Robertson, at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Kevin D. Allen, apostle of Greater Nation Ministries of Little Rock.

Kingdom Builders Outreach Church of God in Christ, 3015 S. Apple St., will observe the seventh appreciation service honoring Michelle Johnson, a missionary, at 6 p.m. Saturday. Musical guests will be Keenon Coleman and Future Generation.

The Missionary Society of Timothy Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1304 S. Apple St., will observe their annual mission program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Steve Lake, pastor of Eureka Baptist Church of Hot Springs.

Men’s/Women’s Day

Barnett Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1321 N. Birch St., will hold its annual men and women’s day Sunday. At 11 a.m. the speaker will be Arnetta Moore of Barnett Chapel. At 3 p.m. the guest speaker will be Rev. Louis Williams, pastor of St. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Music will be provided by the Southeast Arkansas Male Choir.

New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 1317 Texas St., will observe its men and women’s day program at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. David A. Johnson II, pastor of Triumph Church South Campus of Detroit, Mich.

Concerts/Musicals

New Community Church, 321 N. Birch St., will host the 36th anniversary of the Voices of Harmony at 6 p.m. Sunday. Musical guests will include the Spiritualettes, Soul Revivals, Faith of Harmony, Heavenly Hearts, The Johnson Family and more.

South Pinewood Baptist Church, 8869 Highway 79 South, will hold a concert at 6 p.m. Sunday. The featured guests will be The MaHarreys.

Old Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 3116 Port Road, will present the second musical of praise program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The musical guests will be Kings Highway Missionary Baptist Church Choir, Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church Choir, Spiritualettes and more.

Special Events

New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Moscow will hold a building fund program at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Aaron Barnes of New Home Missionary Baptist Church.

Regular St. Marion District Women’s Department quarterly meeting will be held at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 4807 W. Sixth Ave., at noon Saturday.

Regular St. Marion District annual green tea will be held at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 8623 Princeton Pike, at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The guest speaker will be Robbie Williams.

New Jerusalem #2 Missionary Baptist Church, 1005 W. 12th Ave., will hold a building fund drive at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. J.Y. Williams, pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church.

Greater Ward Chapel AME Church, 3700 W. Sixth Ave., will hold a dedication celebration of the Nathaniel Halford Fellowship Hall at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Greater Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 3700 W. 13th Ave., will hold the ordination service of Benjamin Whitfield and the induction of Steven Collins to the office of deacon at 5 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Isaac Barnes Sr., pastor of First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church of Gould.

The Pine Bluff Women’s Community Choir, “Songs of Praise 47 Concert,” will hold rehearsals at Timothy Chapel Baptist Church, 1304 S. Apple St., at 7 p.m. March 21 and March 28. All choir members, former members, interested new members and musicians are asked to attend.

Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church of Tillar will host the citywide usher’s alliance program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. John Montgomery of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.

Rock of Faith Deliverance Church, 3108 E. Third Ave., will hold a deliverance service at 6 p.m. Sunday. Steven Nelson, apostle, and Christy (Davis) Nelson, prophetess, of True Word Ministries of Texarkana, Texas, will be the guest speakers.

Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 S. Grant St., will hold its second anniversary appreciation service honoring the pastor and wife, Anthony Craig Sr. and Betty Craig, starting at 6 p.m. Saturday with a Keeping the Faith program in honor of Mrs. Craig. Guests will include Virtuous, Arkansas Southeast Mass Choir and Rev. Sam Smith. At 6 p.m. Sunday, special guests will include Rev. Deadric Patterson and Annointed Men of Standard of West Memphis.

SONlite Ministries will present its third founder’s celebration at Evangelistic Outreach Church, 620 L.A. Prexy Davis Drive, starting Saturday at 8:30 a.m. with a prosperity and good success workshop with ministers Clarissa Pace, Reggie and Lori Cole and Renice Davis. A concert will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday with Paul and Silas Mass Choir, Kingdom Generation and other groups. At 3 p.m. Sunday, guests will include Leonard and Jessie Ford of Reality of the Gospel Ministries of Little Rock.

Indiana Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1114 Indiana St., will hold Christian Leadership School, which is accredited by the Sunday School Publishing Board of Nashville, Tenn. Registration will be at 7:30 a.m. and classes will begin at 8 a.m. on these dates with the following topics: March 15, How to Be a Strong Christian Black Man; March 22, Christian Evangelism; April 5, Survey of Romans; May 17, The Teachings of Jesus; and May 24, The Sermon on the Mount. Victory Faith Church, 1517 S. Poplar St., will hold a shepherd’s day celebration honoring its bishop, K.D. Mixon Sr., and his family, starting at 3 p.m. Saturday with Rev. George Glass, pastor of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Bastrop, La., as the guest speaker. At 10:30 a.m. Sunday, the guest speaker will be Rev. Melvin McDonald, pastor of Tree of Life Ministries of Kansas City, Kan.

Youth

Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1800 W. Pullen St., will hold its annual youth day program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Cedric Hawkins of First Baptist Church of Stuttgart.

Eighth Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 1200 W. Eighth Ave., will hold its annual youth day service at 11 a.m. Sunday. The speaker will be the pastor, Rev. Kirby L. Gulley.
