Anniversary

Watkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 800 S. Juniper St., will host its 145th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be Rev. Robert Willis, pastor of Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Men In Black will sing.

Revival

Motley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 794 St. Raphael Road, will hold revival at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. The guest speaker will be Rev. Joe Scott Sr., pastor of New Jerusalem #2 Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.

Special events

St. Peter Catholic Church, 207 E. 16th Ave., will honor a deacon, Elton C. Harrison, for 21 years of dedicated service, during a Mass of Thanksgiving at 5 p.m. Saturday. The celebrant will be Bishop Anthony B. Taylor, bishop of the Catholic Church in Arkansas.

Eighth Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 1200 W. Eighth Ave., will celebrate its annual usher program at 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Derick Easter, pastor of New St. Hurricane Baptist Church, and his congregation will be the special guests.

First Trinity Church of God In Christ, 800 Catalpa St., will hold a missions service at 7 p.m. Sunday. The guest evangelist and missionary will be Teresa Strickland Martin of Chosen Generation Church of God In Christ at Terrell, Texas. First Trinity has been involved in missions for more than 45 years in Haiti, the Bahamas, Philippines and South Africa.

“God & Country Day” will be observed at Summit Baptist Church, 901 Ridgway Road, Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Special music will be presented by the Summit Singers Worship Choir and the Summit Sounds Instrumental Wind Ensemble. The public is invited to attend this patriotic service.

Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 8523 Princeton Pike, will celebrate homecoming/family and friends day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker and church will be Rev. Rodney Harris and the Labannah Missionary Baptist Church of Little Rock. All current and former members as well as friends of the church are invited to attend.

Rock of Faith Deliverance Church, 3108 E. Third Ave., (Packingtown community), will host a deliverance service at 6 p.m. Sunday. The guest apostle will be E.L. Franklin of New Bethel #1 Outreach Ministries at Pine Bluff.

Vacation Bible School

St. Andrew AME Church, 701 S. Franklin St., will hold Vacation Bible School, from 5:30 to 7 nightly beginning Monday. Other activities and days will include Crazy Hat Day, Tuesday; Crazy Shade Day, Wednesday; Wild T-shirt Day, Thursday; and Nerd Day, Friday.

First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, plans Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8 nightly Wednesday through Friday. Activities include bible lessons, arts and crafts, music and refreshments.
