PB unemployment rate increases

The Pine Bluff unemployment rate was 9.1 percent in May and is the highest among cities in Arkansas, according to information released Thursday by the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services.

Breaking Ground

Kent Hendershott of Harvey Harrington Land Leveling clears grass and topsoil Monday from a lot owned by Trotter Auto Ford. Trotter Auto Ford has received approval to build a new car dealership near Old Warren Road and Bobo Road in Pine Bluff. The property is visible from Interstate 530 at Exit 41. Simmons announces Russellville transition

Simmons Bank announced a decision Friday by Ronald “Ron” B. Jackson, chairman and CEO of Russellville Community Bank, to begin the transition of his leadership role to R. Scott Hill, Russellville community president, and Denton E. Tumbleson, Clarksville community president.
