Pine Bluff unemployment rate decreased in August

The unemployment rate in Pine Bluff dropped to 11.9 percent in August, down from 12.6 percent in July, according to preliminary data from the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services.

Though the unemployment rate decreased, Pine Bluff still had one of the highest unemployment rates in the state, second only to West Memphis at 12.5 percent. Bentonville had the lowest unemployment rate in the state at 4.9 percent.

The unemployment rate for the state of Arkansas also decreased from 7.6 percent in July to 7.2 percent in August.
