AT&T expands 4G LTE coverage to more of Pine Bluff

As part of its continuing network investment and ongoing 4G LTE rollout, AT&T* has activated a new mobile Internet cell site in Pine Bluff to expand AT&T 4G LTE coverage for area residents and businesses.

The new AT&T cell site provides improved capacity and coverage in northwest Pine Bluff near the Hestand Stadium Fairgrounds and is located along U.S. Hwy 65, just west of Blake Street on West Scull Ave.

AT&T 4G LTE includes faster mobile Internet speeds — up to 10 times faster than 3G, improved performance, reliability and new 4G LTE-compatible devices.

AT&T launched its 4G LTE network in the Pine Bluff market in July 2013. The new cell site is one part of AT&T’s ongoing efforts to expand 4G LTE coverage.

“Our goal is for our customers to have an extraordinary experience, and they’ll be able to download, upload, stream and game faster than ever before on our 4G LTE network,” said Ed Drilling, AT&T Arkansas president. “As part of the Pine Bluff community, we’re always looking for new opportunities to provide enhanced coverage, and our investment in the local wireless network is another way we’re accomplishing that.”

“AT&T’s new cell tower will expand and enhance 4G LTE coverage, providing the speed and reliability needed to keep people in Pine Bluff connected,” said Arkansas State Sen. Stephanie Flowers. “The growth in the number of people relying on smart phones and wireless tablets to connect to the Internet, download apps and stay in touch with friends and family is amazing. We welcome the enhanced service the new cell tower will bring.”

AT&T’s 4G Network

This launch is part of AT&T’s Project Velocity IP, a three-year investment plan announced in fall 2012 to expand and enhance its IP broadband networks. As part of Project VIP, AT&T plans to add macro cell sites nationwide by year-end 2015, as well as deploy small cells and add Distributed Antenna Systems to increase the density of its wireless network.
