Williams accepts UAPB scholarship

Andrea Williams was recently awarded a Chancellor’s Full-Ride Scholarship from the Office of Recruitment at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

The scholarship pays full tuition, fees, room and board and $500 for books each semester.

Williams is the daughter of Betty Cloird and Virgil Williams and will graduate in May from Pine Bluff High School. Her main high school activities include being the secretary/treasurer for the executive board, secretary of the Art and History clubs, Yearbook Editor and a member of the Superintendent Student Cabinet.

Williams will major in psychology at UAPB and plans to becomeg a forensic psychologist.

“I selected UAPB as the college of my choice because of the wonderful opportunities that were placed before me. During the many visits to the campus, I was also pleased with the atmosphere and activities on the campus,” Williams said. “This scholarship will help to fund my education and help me reach the many successful goals that I have set forth for my future.”

To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must have a minimum ACT score of 21 or higher, be the Valedictorian or Salutatorian, and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Details: Call 575-8961 or visit the website at www.uapb.edu.
