UAPB physics professor co-authors article on global warming, cooling

A University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff physics professor recently published an article on climate change in the American Journal of Environmental Science along with colleagues from White Hall High School and Philadelphia College.

UAPB’s Miah M Adel, Mahmood R. Hossain of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Saiyeeda F. Hossain of White Hall High School published the article, which is titled, “Climatic Severity Victims of Upstream Water Piracy Strongly Evidencing Inland Water Depletion-Caused Global Warming Vis-A-Vis Cooling.”

The authors have shown that not only is global warming occurring, but also global cooling.

The past winter was a glaring example for the cooling effect — while the carbon dioxide-based effect is global warming, the water exploitation-based effect can contribute the global warming vis-a-vis cooling.

“The summers are getting warmer and winters are cooler because of the worldwide unregulated exploitation of water resources which maintains the thermal balance in nature,” Adel said. “In its absence, we face desert-like climates.”

The American Journal of Environmental Sciences is an international peer reviewed journal that presents original research articles, reviews, and letters in all areas of environmental studies and environmental sciences.
