Second sign-up deadline announced to protect natural resources


LITTLE ROCK – Farmers and landowners in the approved watershed for portions of Arkansas, Jefferson, Lonoke, and Prairie counties in Arkansas have until Jan. 17 to submit applications to receive financial assistance to implement conservation practices through the Bayou Meto (Middle) Mississippi River Basin Healthy Watersheds Initiative (MRBI) project. Second sign-up application selections will be made by March 14.

Also, farmers and landowners in Jefferson, Lonoke and Pulaski counties also have until Jan. 17 to submit applications for assistance through the Lower Arkansas (Upper) Mississippi River Basin Healthy Watersheds Initiative (MRBI) project. Applications will also be chosen by March 14.
