The Jefferson County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) members and volunteers will be recognized during the second annual Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service Tuesday and the annual RSVP Luncheon and Awards banquet April 11.
Mayor Debe Hollingsworth will be among leaders across the country participating in the Day of Recognition by issuing a proclamation Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the mayor’s office, 200 E. Eighth Ave.
The proclamation will recognize local RSVP participants and to highlight the impact of AmeriCorps VISTA and other national service programs working to address local problems and to thank members for their commitment and impact.
At noon April 11, the 2014 RSVP Luncheon and Awards Banquet will be held at First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Sixth Ave. Hollingsworth will give the welcome to members and honorees for their volunteer efforts.
Guests are allowed to attend the luncheon which costs $13.50 per person. Entertainment will be provided by Joe Lewis. The luncheon will be catered by Dorey’s Catfish. For details or confirm attendance, call 534-2156.
