The American Red Cross urges eligible blood donors to give to help prevent a summer blood shortage. Upcoming blood donation opportunities include:
July 28 from 2 - 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, DeWitt.
Aug. 12 from 12:30 - 5:30 p.m. at Dallas County Medical Center, Fordyce.
Aug. 3 from noon - 5 p.m. at Pauline Baptist Church, Monticello.
July 29 from 2 - 6 p.m. at Walmart, Sheridan.
July 28 from noon - 4 p.m. at Arkansas Department of Correction, 2403 E. Harding Ave., in Pine Bluff.
July 29 from 7 - 11 a.m. at Entergy-White Bluff Plant, 1100 White Bluff Road in Redfield
Aug. 4 from 1 - 5 p.m. at American Red Cross Blood Center, 1610 W. 42nd Ave., Pine Bluff.
To give blood, a blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
