PB native earns medical degree

Brittney La’Trice Pryor, formerly of Pine Bluff, recently received a doctorate of medicine degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tenn.

In 2012, Pryor was among 13 nationally recognized recipients of the American Medical Association Foundation’s Minority Scholars Award which rewards outstanding medical students for their commitment to the elimination of healthcare disparities.

Pryor was president of the local chapter of the Vanderbilt chapter of the Student National Medical Association and held a regional executive board position.

She is conducting her residency training in the specialty of pediatric neurology at the University of Texas-Southwestern/Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Pryor is the daughter of Herbert Pryor and Freddie Johnson-Pryor of Pine Bluff.
