Nominees sought for seniors hall of fame


The Department of Human Services Division of Aging and Adult Services is seeking nominees for induction into the Senior Arkansans Hall of Fame through April 1, 2014. This is the 21st year that seniors will be honored. There are currently 64 seniors in the Hall of Fame.

Each year the division recognizes outstanding senior Arkansans who have served their communities and enhanced the lives of fellow Arkansas seniors. Seniors may be nominated by anyone.

To be considered for selection to the Senior Arkansans Hall of Fame, nominees must be

  • citizens of the state of Arkansas,

be at least 60 years old and living at the time of nomination,

  • have performed outstanding volunteer contributions/services that have promoted, enhanced and enriched the quality of life specifically for senior Arkansans, and h

ave made significant and exemplary contributions to senior Arkansans.

Nomination forms are available through local Area Agency on Aging (AAA) office. The nomination form can also be accessed online by going to the Arkansas Division of Aging and Adult Services website at http://www.daas.ar.gov under the heading “News/Events” and selecting the “2014 Senior Arkansans Hall of Fame Nomination” link to complete the nomination form.
