National Night Out set Aug. 5


The Pine Bluff Police Department will sponsor the annual National Night Out from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.

The event will feature activities for children and adults. There will be bounce houses, music by the Cummins Prison Band, public awareness booths, games and prizes for the children and refreshments such as cotton candy and hot dogs.

Free bus transportation will be provided at the sites and times:

BUS #1 — 5 p.m. - Belle Meade Housing Addition, 5:05 p.m. Brookshire’s on East Harding, 5:15 p.m. St. John Apartments, 5:25 p.m. Jefferson Square, 5:35 p.m. Southside Baptist Church (23rd Avenue and Poplar Street), 5:45 p.m. Brookshire’s at 28th Avenue and Hazel Street, 5:55 p.m. Brookshire’s on Highway 79.

BUS #2 — 5 p.m. The former Food King (16th Avenue and Linden Street), 5:05 p.m. Merrill Center, 5:15 p.m. Cottonwood Apartments, 5:25 p.m., Brookshire’s (Dollarway Road), 5:35 p.m. Boys & Girls Club (Reeker Street), 5:45 p.m. Family Dollar (North University Drive.)
