Monticello work to cause lane closures starting June 16

Improvements to U.S. 425 will require overnight lane closures in Monticello starting June 16, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department officials.

Crews will resurface 2.9 miles of U.S. 425 between Henley Drive to just south of Deerfield Drive in Monticello. The work will reduce northbound and southbound traffic to one lane.

The overnight lane closures will be Monday, June 16 through Wednesday, July 2. The first week of work will occur between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. Beginning Monday, June 23, the work will be performed between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled using barrels and warning signs.

Pine Bluff Sand & Gravel Co. of Pine Bluff was awarded the contract at approximately $1.5 million.
