NAMI Arkansas is presenting Mental Illness Awareness Week Oct. 6-12. On Monday, at 9 a.m. Pine Bluff Mayor Debe Hollingsworth will present a proclamation to William Detmers, vice president of NAMI Arkansas, and Connie Detmers, NAMI facilitator for the Pine Bluff NAMI affiliate, declaring Mental Illness Awareness week in Pine Bluff.
Activities during the week include:
• Oct. 8 – National Day of Prayer and AETN show 7–9 p.m. Tune into AETN for Healing Minds, Changing Attitudes as the topic of Depression is discussed through a documentary and live panel.
• Oct. 10 – Depression Screening Day Free depression screenings will take place all day by many partners and volunteers for NAMI Arkansas will be at UALR providing them live.
• Oct. 12 – NAMI Arkansas State Conference 7:30 a.m. Registration; Conference 8:30 a.m. – 4:20 p.m.; The cost is $40 members; $50 non-members.
