Lincoln County farmer supports Grady fire department

Local farmer Murell Kennedy has directed a $2,500 donation to the Grady Volunteer Fire Department from America’s Farmers Grow Communities.

The program offers farmers the chance to win the funds which are donated to the farmer’s nonprofit of choice.

The donation will help Grady firefighters purchase equipment and supplies.

“They are able to help us on the farm,” Kennedy said when asked why he chose the organization. “Grady is a small town and the volunteer fire department could really use the funds.”

America’s Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, is part of the America’s Farmers initiative, which highlights and celebrates the important contributions of farmers, working directly them to support nonprofit organizations.
