Light display is finalist for state award

The Pine Bluff Festival Association’s Enchanted Land of Lights and Legends holiday light display was one of three finalists for the Grand Old Classic Special Events Award at the recent Henry Awards Banquet, which is the conclusion of the annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism.

The Grand Old Classic Special Events Award is presented to a festival, fair or other special celebration that has “stood the test of time.”

“Just being a finalist makes you a winner,” said Greg Gustek, the festival association’s executive director. “We just completed our 17th season and we were up against two other festivals that had been in existence for 29 and 41 years. Unfortunately, we did not win but just being mentioned and having shots of our lights on the big screen was awesome.”
