Lake Village student receives chancellor’s scholarship


Corvante’ Dowdy, of Lake Village, was recently awarded a Chancellor’s Full-Ride Scholarship from the Office of Recruitment at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

Dowdy was the valedictorian of his graduating class at Lakeside High School. He is the son of Toya Dowdy.

A member of the National Honor Society, Dowdy plans to major in civil engineering at UAPB, obtain a master’s degree and wants to work for a Fortune 500 company.

To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must have a minimum ACT score of 21 or higher, be the valedictorian or salutatorian, and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
