Incubator to host project for aspiring artists Saturday

A free Arts Factory Project for aspiring artists and creative services providers will be held Saturday, April 19, at 7 p.m. at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Business Support Incubator, 615 S. Main St.

The event is sponsored by UAPB’s Economic Research and Development Center of the School of Business at UAPB.

Painters, musicians, clothing designers, chefs and photographers are all examples of being artistic. Participants will learn about making a living using their artistic talents.

“Artists possess talents and gifts that the majority of the world can’t just wake up and mimic, therefore this makes artists marketable and possibly entrepreneurs,” a spokesman said. “The issue is when these artists have issues marketing their talents. That’s where the Arts Factory Project comes in. Our focus is to give the artist and their art an opportunity to turn their talent into a profit.”

Hosted by ERDC intern LeManuel Williams Jr., the workshop will have spoken word by Malcolm Miller, live music by New Era Jazz, paintings by Markeith Woods and rap by JordanL. Each artist is currently a student at UAPB.
