Farm loans available for socially disadvantaged people

Jefferson County Farm Service Ag-Credit announces the availability of funds for Socially Disadvantaged people who want to buy or operate a farm.

SDA financing is for those who have been subjected to racial, ethnic or gender inequality, including women, African-Americans, American Indians, Hispanics, Pacific Islanders, and Alaskan Natives.

The program provides direct and guaranteed loans. Operating loans may be used for buying livestock, equipment, feed, seed and other business-related expenses. Ownership loans provide capital to buy or enlarge a farm, construct or improve buildings, promote soil and water conservation and pay closing costs.
