Pine Bluff Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department will participate in Arkansas’ eighth Prescription Drug Take Back program Saturday.
This year’s take back will for the first time include a food drive component at some locations. Those dropping off unwanted prescription drugs are also being asked to contribute non-perishable food to help local food banks and food pantries restock their shelves.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, the police department’s collection site will be located at Walgreen’s at Harding Avenue and Ohio Street, while the sheriff’s department will staff the location at Brookshire’s at 28th Avenue and Hazel Street.
The Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance will be participating in the event sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Arkansas law enforcement agencies at more than 170 sites across the state where people may return unwanted prescription drugs.
