Digital literacy classes slated

LITTLE ROCK, Ark – Connect Arkansas, a project of Arkansas Capital Corporation, announced that more than 80 free adult digital literacy classes will be held at libraries across 26 Arkansas counties.

The program provides digital literacy training on a wide range of computer and technology topics ranging from Internet safety and security to setting up an email address. In addition to answering questions about computers and the Internet, there are also specific courses offered such as “Setting up an Email Account,” “Computer Basics,” “Computer Basics 2,” “How to Use Your Email Account Effectively,” and “An Introduction to Tablet Computers.”

Classes are currently scheduled for the following Southeast Arkansas counties: Bradley, Chicot, Desha, Grant and Lincoln.

Connect Arkansas received federal stimulus grants to increase Internet awareness, education and use in Arkansas. As part of that grant, Connect Arkansas launched the Adult Digital Literacy Program.
