Southeast Arkansas College employees, board members and honorees recently attended the 25th annual Arkansas Association of Two-Year Colleges Conference at the Hot Springs Convention Center.
The theme for the conference was “Twenty-five Years of Excellence: It’s Just the Beginning.” Keynote speakers included Shane Broadway, director of the Arkansas Department of Higher Education; Walter Bumphus, president and chief executive officers of the American Association of Community Colleges; and Donna Terrell, Fox 16 news anchor.
Four representatives from Southeast Arkansas College were honored during the conference. The honorees were presented with a plaque from Bill Stovall, executive director of the AATYC, at a dinner/brunch in their honor. The honorees were:
• Terry Clausen, SEARK’s Outstanding Staff Member. Clausen is a simulation specialist at SEARK College, Nursing and Allied Health Technology.
• Sam Domineck, Jr., Outstanding Alumnus from SEARK. Domineck is a financial aid officer at SEARK.
• Marsha Peters, Outstanding Faculty Member at SEARK. Peters is a business technology instructor and interim distance learning coordinator.
• Sam Garner, SEARK’s Academic All-Star. Garner is a student in the Technical Studies department.
