This is a listing of activities of interest to residents of Southeast Arkansas. Anyone who would like to submit entries for consideration may do so in writing to the Entertainment Calendar, P.O. Box 6469, Pine Bluff, Ark., 71611. Since all activities are subject to change, it would be wise to confirm the activity with the sponsoring organization.
18 — The Student Government Association at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will sponsor its Homecoming Greek Show in the arena of the Pine Bluff Convention Center. Doors will open at 4 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the UAPB Bookstore, Fathers & Sons Clothier and Record Rack. In Little Rock, tickets can be purchased at Ugly Mike’s Records.
18-19 — The 23rd annual Rison in the Fall festival will feature a BBQ contest, dutch oven contest, beauty pageants, softball tournament, car and motorcycle show and more. Admission is $1, plus one canned good. For more information, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 870-325-6381.
25-26 — The 11th annual “Boo on the Bayou” will be held at the Delta Rivers Nature Center from 6-9 p.m. each day. There will be games, crafts, face painting and animal programs, plus a half-mile “Haunted Trail”. Guests are encouraged to bring a flashlight and come in costume to this free event. 26 — Cane Creek State Park will host its annual Halloween Ghost Roast. There will be hay rides, trick-or-treating, a haunted house, carnival games, costume contests and food vendors. For more information, call 870-628-4714.
29 — White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center will hold its fall carnival from 6-8 p.m. The event will include food, a duck pond, the balloon man, a petting zoo, ring toss, kissing booth and other activities. The staff will also be dressed as Disney characters. The center is also asking for donations of canned goods to be given to the White Hall Food Pantry.
