4 — CASA Women’s Shelter will host its annual CASAblanca fundraiser event at 7 p.m. at the Pine Bluff Country Club. Tickets for the black-tie optional event are $100 per person and can be purchased at the Purple Purse, located 1514 State St., or by calling the shelter at 870-535-2955. 4 — The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St., will host its monthly music series, Live@5, from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 4. Clover Blue will be the featured band for this month’s event. Sponsored by M.K. Distributors, the cost of the evening is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. 4-5 — Downtown Sheridan will be the venue for the annual Timberfest. The event will be held on Grant County Courthouse Square and will include lumberjack competitions, horse show tournament, Bingo, talent show, 2K and 5K race, parade, BBQ cook-off and more. 5 — Hazel Street Church of Christ, 4015 S. Hazel St., will present its Fall Ladies Day from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 5. Lunch will be served. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by Sept. 20 by calling 870-535-5933.
5 — Lake Saracen will host the closing celebration of the Farmer’s Market from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will include a sweet potato pie contest, live entertainment, fall produce and more. 5 — The fifth annual Cardelia Hart 5K Breast Cancer Walk has been set for 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday beginning at 2933 Regalia Drive, off Middle Warren Road.
6 — The Pine Bluff Symphony Orchestra will kick off its 27th season with “The Early Romantic Tradition” at 4 p.m., at the Pine Bluff Convention Center Auditorium. For ticket information, call the symphony office at 870-536-7666 or by visit the website at pinebluffsymphony.com.
12 — Philly Plowden will be the featured guest during the Old Towne Theatres Centre Dinner Theatre at the Pine Bluff Country Club, 1100 Country Club Lane. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and the show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Shows are $45 per person and tickets must be purchased in advance. 25-26 — The 11th annual “Boo on the Bayou” will be held at the Delta Rivers Nature Center from 6-9 p.m. each day. There will be games, crafts, face painting and animal programs, plus a half-mile “Haunted Trail”. Guests are encouraged to bring a flashlight and come in costume to this free event. 26 — Cane Creek State Park will host its annual Halloween Ghost Roast. There will be hay rides, trick-or-treating, a haunted house, carnival games, costume contests and food vendors. For more information, call 870-628-4714.
29 — White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center will hold its fall carnival from 6-8 p.m. The event will include food, a duck pond, the balloon man, a petting zoo, ring toss, kissing booth and other activities. The staff will also be dressed as Disney characters. The center is also asking for donations of canned goods to be given to the White Hall Food Pantry.
